Our friends came over, today. We went for a walk along the seafront, and the girls took their modes of transport to keep them going. Here they are at the new stone quay enjoying themselves.

My husband did his first gig, this evening. Well, his first gig in about 7 years. He was playing at a hotel in Bournemouth with our friend, Paul Longland, and apparently he went OK, apart from a few mistakes. Well done, considering he hardly had enough time to rehearse!

Today I got to really test out the kitchen by making lunch for several members of my family, and it worked out well. I enjoyed having everyone in the kitchen, chatting and catching up, and then forcing themselves to eat the food I'd made...actually I think it tasted OK! I took this photo because I liked the contrast of colours. And because I didn't have time to do anything else!

I know this is a bit of a cheesy shot, but I felt compelled ot take a photo of this heart tealight holder, which hangs from the mantelpiece in the kitchen. It feels like so much is coming together for us, and it feels good!

This evening we went for a walk, and as we left the house, it started drizzling. Then it started to rain. Then we ran back home again. Ah, exercise!

Santa Came To Town!

There was much excitement in our house, this morning. My daughter's voice was at the pitch of glass-breaking levels as she opened her stocking (and "helped" her baby brother open his, too). We were fortunate enough to have a lie-in. Well, 7.30, anyway. Which is pretty good for Christmas morning! Unfortunately, though, my husband is working night shifts. Today he finished his first shift, and so he was too tired to stay up for long. After we'd opened some presents, he went to bed, and we went to my mum's for lunch. Later this afternoon we went out to test the bike that Santa left, and for a lovely walk along the seafront.

We went to the Nativity at St. Mary's church in Swanage, this afternoon. It was packed and included Dusty the donkey, a sheep and her two lambs, and the children forming the nativity scene, not to mention my friend's baby playing the role of Jesus. Very cute, so happy christmas, everyone!
