It was a wet and windy start today, but by lunchtime things had settled down a bit. We went for a pub lunch, then headed to the beach to blow away the cobwebs.
When we got home, we lit a fire in our newly restored fireplace, for the first time, today, just to check things out. It's not a pretty sight, yet, but it is usable. It was exciting to be able to light our fire. I have no idea how long it is since the fireplace was last used, but it definitely felt right for the chimney to be active, once again.
