Day 195
02 December 2009
This afternoon the Parent Association and some of the children decorated the school hall and corridors in preparation for the school Christmas fayre later this week.
It's been a strange day. The rain has been really heavy, I got soaked at least twice. This morning I joined an apprehensive group of people from St Georges school in Langton, and Education Swanage, County Hall in Dorchester. We sat in on the public meeting to hear the fate of the first school, and the decision on whether a consultation would take place regarding secondary provision in Swanage.
The Council decided that St Georges should be "saved", which was a big relief. They also decided that Ed.Swan should meet with the council in January to discuss the proposal further before announcing whether or not a public consultation should take place.
