Today the new children's centre in Swanage, opened. The centre was built by Ecofab LTD. It is a very attractive timber building, with walls made with straw and sheep's wool. The centre is managed by Surestart, and the project was managed by Dorset County Council. I'll reserve my feelings for DCC on this one, only to say that they can prove themselves to be proactive towards our younger generations...Anyway, MP Jim Knight formally opened the centre, and there was an afternoon of activities for children. The centre is used for most of the baby groups, as well as the health visitor baby clinics, and other organisations such as Bosom Buddies, and the National Childbirth Trust.
In addition to the grand opening of the children's centre, a new clothing shop for children opened, today. Little Rascals opened its doors, selling realistically-priced clothing for babies and children. I wish them lots of success!
