The First Day of Spring

Day 283
01 March 2010

This morning, the sun was shining, there was a fresh taste in the air, the sky was blue, and the birds seemed to have turned up the volume. On our walk to school, we looked around us to see what signs of Spring we could see.
These photos were taken this afternoon, when we had more time. After school, we walked along the seafront and met our friends. We enjoyed a cuppa from Lisa's camper van and ate chocolate brownies, whilst watching the kids play on the beach. There are spring tides, today, so the tide was a long way out, a millpond reflecting the blue skies. It's so lovely to be able to go to the beach after school, I feel so grateful to be in this position.

This scene made me laugh: the gull sat on the telescope for ages, hoping that the man would offer a chip. After a while, the gull took to shouting at the man, but his pleas for "gizzuz a chip?" went unheard. At least it was polite enough to ask, rather than just take!

  1. I love seeing your photos. I miss Swanage terribly. I used to live there a few years back and was born there. We are in Hampshire now - the coastline here is poor in comparison :-(
